Sep 30, 2022 · Women's, gender and sexuality studies (WGSS) is an academic field that focuses on women's history, cultural influences on gender, social injustices and related topics. As an interdisciplinary program, women's, gender and sexuality studies draw on knowledge and techniques from other academic fields including sociology, media studies and politics. The Minor in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Units required: 18 units, 12 of which must be taken in courses numbered 300 or higher. All minor courses must be home-based or cross-listed in Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGSS). All courses taken for the minor must be taken for a grade, and students must earn a grade of C- or higher.The Department of Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies Research has 11 core faculty members and over 100 affiliate faculty members.
