I've tried Tricaru Verde in Arena, but that felt pretty weak. The Icarus need high speed (as usual) even with their speed lead, and the verde obviously doesn't have his lead in arena.

Don't disregard 5* runes if you are trying to get the team started. My first tricaru team had 7 5* determination runes on it overall. Especially slot 1/3/5 can be grinded into a useable rune, but I also had a few 2/4/6. Not much difference, but determination is a pain int he butt to get. tricaru with all determination would be +48% def for each tricaru, but if you have all guard, its +45% def for each. 8% per set x 9 sets is 72%, not 45%. Non budget is doing God mode twins runes. But with the large range of rune quality you can have icarus on, tricaru is the budget and the end game team.
