It took a while but I found the rear vision camera in volume 4 of the FSM. To replace the camera you have to remove the rear fascia. Once the fascia is removed you can press some snap clips and remove the camera from the fascia. There is a pluggable connector attached to the camera with a short harness.The "Service Rear Vision System" message was what got me. Haven't gotten it since, however, and I've backed up a number of times using the camera and it seems to be working completely normal now.
