I have a 500 that did the same thing no charge and no tach I wiggled wire harness around where it goes to the stator and the tach worked and it charged fine no problems since. The battery is not charging while the ATV is on, and the tach meter is showing 0 RPMs while the ATV is on and running. Stator should have 3 yellow wires coming out of it. I dont have a manual for your machine but im sure its like all the rest. If you have a multi meter you could check the voltage across any 2 yellow wires.
