Biography. Lord Vere Beauclerk, was the third son of Charles Beauclerk, 1st Duke of St Albans, and his wife, Lady Diana de Vere and was born 14 July 1699.. He entered the Navy, about 1713 and was promoted to the rank of Captain 30 May 1721 and appointed to the frigate Lyme and served in the Mediterranean 1722-27 under Sir Charles Wager. On his retirement from politics in 1750, he was created Baron Vere, of Hanworth in the County of Middlesex. he was also Lord Lieutenant of Berkshire from 1761 to 1771.
