You get tickets for a specific train, but seats aren't assigned so get their early and you can pick where you want to be.The Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad is a must for anyone interested in railroading. It is also great even if you don't particularly like trains. They have a fairly new museum with lots to see and they have several excursion trains. Great place for kids and adults.
